Master planning may be thought of as the link between senior management plans and shop floor operational schedules. The ability to ensure that both levels are coordinated with each other is the responsibility of the planning function..

The planning function also facilitates the flow of information both up and down the planning process to ensure that plans are achievable and in line with corporate goals.

This course looks in detail at the stages in the planning process and what are the feedback loops to ensure that plans are achievable.

There is also a review of forecasting methods and how to manage them in relation to the wider planning needs.

The final module looks at how students can use the coursework to improve work practices in their organisation.

A review one month after the course looks at how well the course has manged to change practices in the business
